Kat's Story
Kathryn worked in sales, marketing, and management for large corporations in New York City before moving to Vienna, where she founded and ran her own business, further developing her marketing and brand management skills.
She and her Austrian husband and their two (almost) adult children have lived in Vienna's 8th District since 2004.

Q: How would someone recognize you if they passed you on the street?
A: They would see me whizzing past on a bicycle trying to eat a slice of pizza, because I am always hungry and always in a hurry - there is so much to do!

A: Tea
Q: Where do you get your news from?
A: The New York Times and The New Yorker. (You can take a girl out of New York, but . . . )
Q: What is the best advice you have ever given yourself?
A: The best way to get something done is to do it.

A: Pizza, obviously.
Carmel's Story
Carmel graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design, then worked for over 15 years in Toronto for various branding and marketing agencies. After moving to Vienna she established her own agency, Carmel Dias Design, before teaming up with Kathryn to form Kat&Carmel.
She and her Austrian husband, their two (almost) school children and 42 plants have lived in Vienna since 2014.

Q: How would someone recognize you if they passed you on the street?
A: I would be chasing after my son while simultaneously juggling a cup of coffee and trying to film my daughter's latest dance routine.

A: Coffee
Q: Where do you get your news from?
A: Instagram and Late night shows (Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, Seth Meyers)
Q: What quote or saying do people say but is complete BS?
A: "You can't have your cake and eat it too." That doesn't make sense - it's your cake, you can eat it.

Katrin Schober
Digital Marketing Specialist
Katrin, who is always in pursuit of exciting, new ideas, started her career with several different start-ups. Working for young, growing companies built on her background in business and marketing and allowed her to learn new skills. At her job with a performance marketing agency, she learned in-depth digital marketing skills. Today, she is self-employed as a Digital Marketer and founded the fashion brand Swivelbird.
Katrin is a passionate dancer who lives in a space that serves as both her atelier and flat in Vienna’s sixth district.

Q: How would someone recognize you if they passed you on the street?
A: They would notice me walking around, probably with headphones, possibly breaking into a little dance while chasing the sun and reconciling everyday life with my creative longings.

A: Coffee, mostly decaf, always oat milk

A: My online research - I don’t like to be bombarded with news.
Q: What is the best advice you have ever given yourself?
A: Let yourself want. Wanting is not selfish; it is the motor that drives dreams.
